Renewal of Trademark Registration in Thailand
A Principal Register registration remains in force for ten years as of the date of filing. The renewal of the subject registration can be filed within three months before the expiry date. It will take approximately 6 months for the Trademark Office to issue the new trademark certificate.
Nevertheless, the renewal of the same can be filed within a six-month grace period from the expiry date (late renewal) which will be subject to the additional official fee of 20% of the regular official fee for renewal.
Further, the DIP has implemented fast-track system for trademark renewals in the event of straight forward renewal which has effective on March 1, 2021. The details of which are as follows:

1. The total number of the goods/services per mark shall not exceed to 30 items;
2. There is no recordal of change of name, address, or assignment filed upon filing the renewal;
3. Fast track examination shall be requested at the time of filing the renewal;
4. The turnaround time to issue the renewal certificate is 45 minutes instead of the typical procedure which take approximately 4 thru 6 months to issue the new certificate;
5. No additional official fee incurred for filing the fast-track renewal.
